Ahmad has demonstrated a consistent ability to work effectively with diverse groups, promoting independence, personal development, safeguarding, inclusion, and community participation while offering practical, hands-on support.

Early Life and Education

Born and raised in Afghanistan, Ahmad’s formative years were shaped by poverty, inequality, violence, and systemic oppression. These lived realities fostered his early interest in social justice and motivated his pursuit of sociology. He earned his Master of Arts in Sociology with honours from Christ University in Bangalore, India.

Professional Journey

Ahmad began his academic career as a guest lecturer at several private universities before joining Kabul Education University as an Assistant Professor. In this role, he led various academic committees focused on research, e-education, cultural affairs, peacebuilding, creativity, and innovation.

Beyond his university responsibilities, Ahmad collaborated with the British Embassy on the Active Citizen project and with the United States Institute of Peace on peacebuilding and conflict-resolution initiatives. He played a central role in organising street plays, art exhibitions, and workshops on active citizenship, peacebuilding, and conflict resolution engaging both students and faculty members.

Ahmad is also a founding member of the Afghanistan Sociological Association (ASA), where he has contributed significantly to programme design, strategic planning, and the implementation of national and international academic and community-oriented activities.

He is currently leading a resettlement project in Canterbury, Kent, supporting refugees and asylum seekers from diverse cultural backgrounds. The initiative aims to facilitate participants’ adjustment to live in the United Kingdom, enhance their English language skills, and promote mental health and well-being particularly among adult men arriving through resettlement programmes.

Personal Life and Volunteer Work

Outside his professional commitments, Ahmad enjoys walking and attending the gym. He actively volunteers with the Kent Afghan Association, an organisation that supports Afghan communities and the wider public through educational, social, and humanitarian initiatives. He also contributes to local charitable work through his involvement with Sue Ryder.

Values and Vision

Ahmad is guided by a commitment to social equity, compassion, and the transformative power of education. He values inclusive dialogue and collaborative learning, striving to create spaces where marginalised voices are acknowledged and respected. His broader vision is to bridge divides between communities through research, outreach, and public service, fostering resilience and understanding in the face of adversity.

Closing Statement

Whether teaching, mentoring, or advocating for vulnerable populations, Ahmad remains committed to justice, empathy, and the empowerment of others principles that continue to shape both his personal and professional journey.
