Dr. Omid Afghan

Founder

Omid Afghan was born in 1982 in Kabul, a city renowned for its rich history and diverse cultural heritage. He completed his primary and secondary education in Kabul, where his passion for learning and intellectual curiosity first emerged. Motivated by a deep interest in societal structures, cultures, and human interactions, he commenced his higher education at Kabul University in 2002 and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2005.

Following his graduation, Dr. Afghan embarked on an extensive professional career, contributing as a trainer and researcher to several prominent national and international organizations. These include the Foundation for Culture and Civil Society, the National Center for Policy Research, the Open Society Foundation, the National Democratic Institute, the Ministry of Women’s Affairs, the Ministry of Culture and Communication, and the Ministry of Counter Narcotics.

Since 2006, Dr. Afghan has been actively engaged in academia, serving as a faculty member in the Department of Sociology at Kabul Education University. His commitment to academic excellence led him to pursue postgraduate studies in India, where he obtained his Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Sociology from Christ University and Kalinga University (2010–2017). Alongside his formal academic roles, he has taught at several distinguished private universities, including Mashal, Rana, Dunya, Hewad, Gharjestan, Aalama, UMEF, and Kateb.
